Thank you!
I am 25 years old and live far enough north that I have to do a lot of "night" driving in winter months. When I started to notice that I couldn't see as well driving dark, I was nervous that there was something wrong--I have very bad vision to begin with. I went to my ophthalmologist; luckily everything came back normal. My doctor told me that some people just have a hard time differentiating between object when night, dawn, or dusk driving. He recommended getting yellow lenses to wear when driving at night because it changes the quality of light and helps make things more clear.
I was upset because I wear glasses and didn't want to switch to contacts just to wear lenses. When I bought these, I did so because they were the right color of yellow and were affordable. However, I was thrilled to see that they fit comfortably OVER my glasses! I didn't have to switch at all and they don't feel funny over my glasses.
These are now a staple for me when driving at night. They also work great and dawn and dusk because they keep the view the same as it would be at night. I don't have to keep readjusting my eyes as the sun goes down. They really do change the quality of light. One of the things I've struggled with is halos of light around headlights, signs, and street lights. These glasses have really reduced the halos and made lights clearer. In addition, my doctor was right. They change the quality of light. I always thought it was hard to see because it wasn't bright enough, but in reality, some lights (headlights, etc.) were so bright that they blinded any area right outside their range. By changing the color of the light, I'm now able to see past the sphere of lights into darker areas as well.
I highly recommend these glasses to anyone who thinks night driving is the slightest bit difficult. I never realized how tense and scared I was driving at night, and I've really been able to relax and not be white-knuckled and hunched over my steering wheel. I will say, the clip that came with the glasses is useless and I threw it away pretty quickly--it was too hard to open/close and the glasses were in my way. However, other than that, I've been nothing but amazed.
