I have thick thighs so I was really happy that these were super comfortable (even wet), stayed in place and prevented chub-rub. I am 5'2 but I'm very curvy and they fit me a bit above my knee. I pulled them up and down periodically so that my tan lines wouldn't be so harsh because these stay put! I paired them with a tankini so that would feel comfortable walking around the island in my swimsuit. I think these are great for anyone who prefers to dress more modestly, would prefer to hide their thighs or who intends to be active when they're swimming.
