I needed a feeder for a single Betta fish and this was one of the very few options available. The others all seem to scoop a quantity of food while a Betta only eats 1 or 2 granules per day. A scoop would not work for my needs. It has 14 individual compartments that each needed to be loaded with the quantity of food desired. It can feed 1 to 4 times a day. Its takes a little time to put a granule or 2 in each compartment but thats up to 14 days of feeding so its a small inconvenience. There was a small problem however. As the plastic dial goes around (like a clock) each compartment with food passes over a hole and the food is dropped through the hole and into the water. The problem is that the hole and the compartments are exactly the same size, yet they don't exactly line up. There is a small "ledge" at the front of the hole that remains. Its no more than 1/32 of an inch however the 2 granules are just small enough to sit on the ledge without falling. Eventually (at the next feeding) the food does drop where the wheel moves again but this potentially leaves Bob (the Betta) without food for a day. I had to take a small, metal file and make the hole a little bigger on the front end so that this "ledge" would no longer exist. This is definitely something that could be improved on in the design. Its is a shame that there are very few feeders designed for Betta quantities of food.
