This arrived compressed and sealed. I carefully removed the packaging and it immediately expanded to the shape shown in the picture. It is the highest quality dense memory foam. It holds my heavy legs up to relieve pressure on my ankles and back. There is no sinking and no sagging, yet it's " to-die-for" comfortable!! It even has a soft white quilted zippered cover on it, which can be removed and washed. I've seen these in department stores for $$$ so this is a super price for a top support pillow.
