The Ultimate Forbidden Fruit
"Several months ago, I broke my vow of celibacy on the altar of my own church, and God help me, I would do it again. I am a priest and this is my confession." Well, when that is what you read on the first page, who in their right mind would put this book down?!? Holy hotness...quite literally! After reading this book, I think that the word 'scorching' is too tame to describe the scenes in Priest! It was forbidden and I wanted to be Tyler's fruit, his "Little Lamb," his Eve, his very own deity. Yes, this is a story about a Priest and his struggle with temptation, but I think it is more so about a normal 29 year old man who is truly trying to find himself and dig out of the grief that has been plaguing him for the last ten years. From the very beginning, this book reads like an erotic romance, which almost immediately diverts your thoughts from the religious aspect. The fact that we are reading every single one of the Priest's dirty and depraved thoughts about a woman made it very easy to picture them in a different setting (although, I have to say the background of a church was so sinfully delicious to me that I craved more). I'm sure that not everyone will agree with my opinion, but that is one huge reason why this book was H.O.T. HOT!!! My only complaint, per se, would be the constant flip flopping with the H throughout the book. Even though I understood the reasoning, I wanted to see him make a definitive choice and stick with it. He was being pulled in so many different directions, but I just wish he would have stuck with one. However, that being said, we were granted with an HEA and one that I was pleased with, although it did seem a bit rushed. I loved the H and h in this book and thought that all of the characters were really well rounded and very well written. I felt all of the emotions that they were experiencing - the lust, the heartbreak, the longing, the love. I highly recommend this book to anyone with an open mind. I know that I will most definitely read another romance/erotica novel by Ms. Simone. I just cannot wait to see what crazy place she takes us to next!
