I read serveral reviews of different radios of similar size. I really wanted a small radio to listen to Talk Radio and Music at work. I wanted something that would sit on my desk, and not take up too much space. At first, when I saw the measurements of this radio, i worried that it was small, and the sound quality would suffer. I am very surprised, and I am enjoying this radio immensely. The sound quality is very good. Music, and talk sound very clear, not "Tinny" as some small radios can sound. Were one to judge its size by the sound quality alone, one would figure its a larger radio. Now don't misunderstand me, it doesn't sound like some large speaker radio, but it sounds very good. It receives FM and AM signals well, which was surprising as I was expecting more trouble getting my stations in, because the building I am using it in is kind of a dead zone when it comes to radio waves. It pulls in the FM and AM stations very well, and they come in clearly. A coworker of mine has a much larger radio, with a larger antenna, and this smaller radio seems to get better reception then her digital tuner radio. The design works well for a desk. I am able with one hand to easily hold it, and tune the stations in as the turning knob is on the top. I would highly recommend this radio. It is my second Sony radio of this type. This and my first Sony have met my expectations, and exceeded them. I would recommend this radio without any worry, and would be confident that other would have a similarly positive experience.
