Great product, laughable documentation
I installed the Reolink NVR package with eight cameras-- then added six more a la carte, including one WiFi camera for an area where we couldn't run Cat 5e cable.
Instead of a home run from each camera back to the NVR, I bought four TP-Link PoE switches (great product) and connected the cameras in clusters of 3, 4 and 6 cameras each. A couple of cameras closest to the NVR are on a home run. Those cameras connect to two of the PoE jacks in the back of the NVR and the rest come in on a single LAN jack, which includes the one WiFi camera. It works great.
There is almost no documentation included with the products so I went to the Reolink website. It's unbelievably bad...as if it's been written with Google translate. The system is pretty much plug-and-play, but if you run into any issues you're kind of on your own to figure it out. Suggestion for Reolink: You've created a nice product; spend a few bucks and hire an English-speaking editor to clean up your website. Example: One of your staff contributors said sharing cameras via a switch is a great solution-- another said it's not recommended for more than two cameras. I've got six cameras coming in on one switch at full resolution and they look great.
I've revised my original four-star review to five stars because the equipment is so good and everything works well once it's set up properly.
