Braava 380t + Roomba 770 = a great pairing! (FLOOD UPDATE)
I've relied upon the Roomba 770 for the past two years to pick up the cat hair, crumbs and dust all over my house. But I decided it would be nice to enlist the aid of the iRobot 380t to do simple damp mopping.
The 380t operates quite differently than a Roomba floor sweeper. First, it is delightfully quiet! Unlike the Roomba 770, I literally cannot hear it unless I'm in a quiet room right next to it. It also uses a little navigation cube to avoid getting lost (batteries included). It avoids thick carpets and works fine on my laminate floors and rough textured tiles in my kitchen and bathrooms. The 380t does not plug itself into the charging station when finished like the Roomba 770, but it does return to its starting point and tootles a little "I'm finished" tune.
How well does it work? Well, it only uses a little washcloth-sized microfiber cloth and a few ounces of water, so its 350 square foot range is iffy on the first pass. But this is such a quiet little critter that I refill the 380t and with each run the floor looks surprisingly better. Dried-on glop or shoe polish are still going to need hand scrubbing, but for overall damp mopping I'm pretty happy. Note: there is only a single blue mopping cloth included in the box; I'd suggest buying a 15-pack of the CIMC LLC Microfiber cloths first thing.
I read several complaints about the rubber on the drive wheels failing and I can see how that could happen. The rubber is very soft textured neoprene like on a diver's wet suit. If it ever fails I'll try to fix it myself and post an update.
Anyway, if you keep your expectations reasonable, I think you will be happy with the Braava 380t.

FLOOD UPDATE: I live in Houston and yesterday my floors were partially covered with seeping flood water from one of our tropical storms. Once I got the house dry I used the Braava 380t to clean and disinfect. I used Hoover FloorMate Floor-to-Floor (2 ounces per quart) and my little robot did a good job all over the house.
