I've had this for a couple of months now. I bought this to use as a foundation to lay my mattress on (not as a box spring, which is the other application). I wanted a low-profile bed because my dachshunds like to jump on and off the bed (they won't use pet stairs) and I was worried they'd hurt themselves on our old, much higher bed. I LOVE this thing! It was SO simple to put together- my husband and I had it together in 10 minutes, and it really wasn't even a two-person job. We're both overweight, and it's so sturdy! I was always worried about the slats breaking on our old bed- a few of them had cracked! This one is all metal and the slats are very close together, making it super supportive and strong. The one thing I was worried about was creaking noises because it's all metal, but it makes no noise whatsoever, ever. I will say that it firmed up my mattress quite a bit. I invested in a new, top-of-the-line mattress and was a little surprised by how firm it is on this support system (it was much softer on my old, traditional bed frame with box spring), but I got used to it. Whenever we need a new mattress, I plan on purchasing a much softer one to go with this bed. Using a box spring would probably help, but it would raise the height too much for my dogs, so I'm just dealing with the firmness. Overall, this thing is great! We love it, our dogs love the height, and I'm so glad I purchased it.
