Best value for safety and flexible use!
So I'm a researcher and I searched high and low for a Pack n Play type of arrangement for downstairs in a two-story home that would have A) a changing table (to not have to walk up and down the stairs all the time) and B) a removable bassinet for the first few months that was SAFE to sleep in (i.e., FLAT bottom, not at an incline). This was one of only a couple that I found that fit both of those criteria. I was not at all disappointed.
Portable bassinet: As I said before, it was very important to me to have a flat bottom and the breathable sides to boot. The technically flips out to "rock", but the curve is so minor, it's not worth it. They say the limits for this are 25" or 15 pounds. My little one was over 21 inches when born and fit perfectly. Thus, in the beginning, we LOVED the portable bassinet, and it was the baby's favorite place to sleep. However, perhaps ours is a fast grower, but the baby seemed to be approaching the edges of the bassinet by 4 weeks, and at 6 weeks, we're starting to transition to the larger bassinet below. 25" is essentially the length of the mattress itself, so I think it's an exaggeration to say that a 25" baby can sleep in the bassinet. Now, I'm sure that most babies probably outgrow the weight limit before the length limit. Ours is just a tall one I guess! TIP: if your baby DOES have GERD and your pediatrician recommends sleeping/napping at an incline, you can put something underneath the back "legs" of the portable bassinet on the floor to angle it up a tad. Just make sure to check the incline to not overdo it (about 12-13 degrees is recommended).
Changing table: Overall, great for what it's designed for. The attachment for diapers was crucial, and we used the area underneath the changing table for storing extras (liners, cream, change of clothes). We used scented blue plastic diaper bags, attached on the hinge, to put the diaper change waste temporarily (about 3-4 changes worth would fit before needing to change out a bag). We always used a changing pad liner (a waterproof kind) and switched them out when soiled. Notably, a couple of times when our little one had a blow out that arced over and above the diaper and changing pad, it was a bit hard to get all of the yellow goop from the portions of the changing pad itself. In particular, I had to take a Q-tip to get out some staining from the streams of poop that ran into the seams. If you are considering types of changing pad liners, I'd suggest the squared off ones. Though oval gray ones I found looked awesome, during fountain poop events, the extra coverage of the corners was actually quite helpful! I think the faint poop stains are the only thing that would make me hesitant in handing the set down to someone else.
Music/vibration attachment: Very cool that you can attach to both the portable bassinet (with a little bit of force, mind you) and the regular one. However, it runs through the batteries REALLY quickly. Furthermore, after a week or so, it started making a rattling noise when vibrating that you had to adjust the positioning to minimize. The music was pretty lame. We used the nature sounds option some, but it's such a short loop that it was a bit annoying. It'd be cool for the future to throw a white noise option on there.
Large bassinet: I'm just starting to transition the little one to it, so I'll update this when I have more to say. For now, I've been pleasantly surprised that most of the Pack n Play sheets fit well on the "mattress". It's not that plush, but then again it shouldn't be per AAP guidelines to minimize SIDS risk. TIP: I love the sheets that are waterproof (i.e., waterproof pad and sheet in one) to avoid having to buy both. We've double layered, so that if the top layer gets soiled, you already have a new one right below it. (There's no place to store linens around the nursery center downstairs for us, so this tip was a lifesaver for us!)
Thanks for reading if you made it this far. I hope it was helpful!
