So many poor reviews on this, i was scared to buy it. but, ive always wanted one. Im not a crazy coffee drinker, but i do like to occasionally have a hot beverage. I have not had this product long, i just received it yesterday. I purchased the violet one and its so cute. The power button to turn it off DOES work, you hold your finger on it for like 2 seconds and it turns off. I am still waiting to get my pods from the Keurig website, so i almost waited to set up my machine, but when i opened it up, i discovered that there were samples in there!! 3 coffee pods, 1 hot cocoa pod, and 3 iced tea pods! It also comes with filters and cleaners etc. I wasnt expecting all that, so it was a nice surprise. The water container DOES come off, which makes it easy to take to the sink, i just dont like how the lid doesnt latch on it. I live in high altitude, 7000 feet, and this supposedly only works up to 6000 feet, but there is a high altitude function which is awesome. I havent checked to see if i have to set that function on every time i turn the keurig on, ill have to check that out when i get home. I followed the directions perfectly. ran hot water through it first, then put a hot cocoa pod in. There is a checkbox to select hot cocoa pod. It brewed HOT, my tongue is mad at me. it tasted delicious, not watery. after i brewed the cocoa, it says to run hot water through it again to clear the cocoa out, so i did. Everything was easy. i cant wait to get all my other pods from Keurig. I ordered some really fun ones! UPDATE: The high altitude setting does stay on. i dont have to select it each time i use it. i have had it for 11 days now and have used it once or twice a day. This machine is really awesome for someone like me. Very happy with my purchase. UPDATE: WOW i cant believe ive had this for over a year! it still works perfectly!!!! my son and i use it all the time for hot chocolate. and its really a nice little machine to have when you have a visitor and wanna offer them a nice hot fresh coffee real quick. zero problems with this machine. i love it just as much as the day i got it.
