BUY THIS CURLING IRON
Ok, I’m going to be honest with y’all: I am a girl who, up until a week ago, knew how to do like, 4 things to my hair and make it look *somewhat* presentable. I could blow dry it straight, pull it back into some sort of nest on top of my head, put some product in it and let it dry, and sometimes make it look good with a diffuser (I have wavy/slightly curly hair naturally). YOU NEED THIS CURLING IRON.
I was terrified of the idea of it at first, but I got it at a reduced price the day or two after Christmas after not getting it from Santa. I wasn’t sure how it was going to work for me because any other hair tool I’ve gotten to make my hair look fabulous I could never figure out (or I was just too lazy to take my time with it). The fact that it kinda “sucks” your hair into it was enough to make me uncomfortable about it at first, but I figured I’d give it a shot because it was a bit cheaper than it was a few days earlier.
Y’all. This thing is virtually foolproof. I was nervous the first few curls I did because I was certain it was going to suck my hair into it, get stuck, catch on fire, send me running frantically around the block until I stuck my head in a snow drift, and leave me with a bald spot. But then, this amazing thing happened: I tried to put too much hair into the chamber (because, again, I’m lazy), and it just stopped. It wouldn’t suck the hair into the chamber. It stopped. It forces you to use the appropriate amount of hair for each curl not only for safety, but for optimal results. I’ll even admit that the first time I used it on New Year’s Eve, I was one day post-wash and didn’t feel like washing and drying just to try this thing out, and even though it says for optimal results to use on freshly cleaned, dry hair (I know what you’re thinking: “you lil rebel, you.” And, I am), it still turned out fabulously.
LAZY GIRLS, THIS IS YOUR DREAM CURLING IRON. The first time I used it, I used it on the 12 second setting and it took me nearly 45 minutes to get through all my hair (I don’t have especially thick hair, but I have a decent amount of hair). You guys? I’ve used it 3 times in the last week and last night, I’ve gotten so good at it that it only took me about 25 minutes to curl my whole head.
I immediately fell in love with this thing, but here’s where I’m sold on it. Yesterday evening, I curled. I went out on the town, things happened that I’m not sure I remember (not due to any brain damage from the heat of the iron, but because of my own poor decision making completely unrelated to this purchase), and it’s cold as balls outside so I was wearing a hat and a hood when I was outside. I went home, slept on it, laid around all day on it (we’ll say I “came down” with a 24 hour “flu”), pulled it back in a ponytail, decided I needed to go get something to eat, took it out of the ponytail, brushed it out, used no extra product (last night I sprayed a minimal amount of extra hold hairspray that I should probably write a review on next), and while it doesn’t look the same as it did yesterday, I’m still getting complimented on it and I still feel fabulous despite my current state.
