War of the Orcs is a delightful story for all ages, but specifically for young readers. My nine year old daughter loved the story immensely and specifically as the heroine was closer to her age. The story is amusing all the way round and even the dangerous scenes are narrated in a funny manner so that instead of feeling repulsed you actually find them funny. The story is about Orcs who are larger version of humans and also have a large life span. They unite together to initiate a battle against humans because humans made boundaries that made hunting difficult and humans also killed Orcs due to their fear of the former. The heroines of the story are Bisi an eight year old princess and her very intelligent and brave grandmother Cesi. Together they take the world by storm exterminating all the enemies to the kingdom including pirates and Orcs and making the king much more richer and strong. While I have read about people's fighting skills, the story builds on Bisi's evading skills. She evades any arrow targeted in her direction with ease and so her grandmother makes us of this very quality to make Bisi a target and empty the arrows of the rivals so that they are caught easily. The book is filled with many magical and mythological creatures and makes a great lighthearted read.
