I ordered these specifically because the cable only exits on one side of the unit. I've found this configuration is just easier for the kids to deal with and I'm untangling cords less often. My young audiophiles reported good sound quality before quickly becoming immersed in the world of Pixar and stopped responding to my questions altogether. I was initially very pleased, because I could have very easily spent three times as much for a comparable product. Unfortunately the plastic head band snapped within the first month of use. I'm sure I'm not The only one who has experienced this. So just be aware that there is the potential for these to snap along a molding line along the headband. The warranty coverage is excellent however and once I reported the issure to Amazon a new set was sent same day! These headphones are worth a look, imho.
