I purchased the Rayovac 300lm (SE3DLN) lanterns last year, and I think they're great. But the Lighting EVER was cheaper, so I thought I'd give it a try, despite one reviewer indicating they weren't as bright. I'm glad I did because, IMO, it's every bit as bright as the Rayovac, and just as sturdily made. One tiny difference is that the 100% setting is the first switch setting on the Rayovac, while on the Lighting EVER it is the second. And yes, the Lighting EVER lantern employs one larger LED to the Rayovac's 3 smaller LEDs. But sitting side-by-side, both at their 100% power setting, the only noticeable difference is the diffraction pattern, not the intensity of the light. I think the Rayovac is a fine lantern, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. But I think the Lighting EVER lantern is just as good -- and somewhat less expensive.
