So glad I didn't drop a grand on IPS
I was saving for a G-Sync IPS monitor but decided for $350 to try this first and if I didn't like it simply return it. There is a bunch of these 35" VA panels flooding the market right now, all of them at 100Hz but they are all selling for much more money (Acer Predator Z35P, BenQ EX3501R, ASUS ROG Strix XG35VQ 35, ViewSonic ELITE XG350R-C 35, AOC AGON AG352UCG 35). My suspicion that all of these are the same 35" VA panel is probably correct, so why not try the Scepter which is the cheapest option. Well let me tell you I'm not disappointed at all. Sure it's only 100Hz vs (120hz or 144hz) but honestly unless you have a 2080TI (I have a 2080 Super FTW3) you wont be able to push it much further anyway. Gaming on this is another world, it's huge and immersive. Colors are great and contrast and black levels are better than IPS. No dead pixels, and back light bleed is not an issue. I have this setup in my basement (man cave) and I'm a happy camper now. Saved myself some serious money. PS. Even though NVidia Control Panel says "this monitor is not Validated as G-Sync compatible" ... don't worry it still works with G-Sync and rocks 100Hz. It's buttery smooth when gaming.
