UPDATE 12/02/2108 The Roborock keeps getting better! The lastest firmware update added no-go zones and virtual barrier tape. We couldn't wait to try out to new features. They work excellent! I have not had any issues with this one. Whatever bedeviled the first one has not occurred with this one. We run it through the whole house every other day during the week and she nevers get hung up on anything. Compared to the Neato we first had, we can rely on the Roborock to start and complete her cleaning chore. While it does not clean quite as well as a regular vacuum, it keeps the cat fur down to a negligable level and picks up all the food that he leaves on the floor. We only vacuum manually just before we have company. I can't say how highly I rate this product. If I could give it 10 starts I would!!! UPDATE 10/20/2018 The Roborock Mi S50 continues to work just fine. We have been extremely happy with it. I have not had the problem that I experienced with my first one so that was was just a defective unit. I have to say the mopping capability has surprised me. While probably not as good as an on the knees hand cleaning, when done weekly on our kitchen floor we have been extremely happy with the outcome. Between the vacuuming and mopping it has reduced our weekly workload significantly. Overall we are very pleased and I have upgraded my review to 5 stars! ========================================================================================================== This is actually my second Roborock Mi S50. My first one developed a horrible screech after running for a few minutes. I had thought it was the brush roller bearings but it was something internal. This happened at exactly 30 days from my purchase on Amazon so I returned it. And I ordered another one at the same time. Why, you might ask? This thing rocks! I am hoping the first one was just a one off and not indicative of all of them. We shall see on that point. To put this into perspective, I bought the Roborock to replace a Neato Connected Botvac. The Neato was a good vacuum, but it drove me carzy banging around the house, moving chairs, climbing the cat tree, eating power cords, etc. The Roborock in comparison is gentle on the furniture, rolls right over cords without swallowing, doesn't try to climb the cat tree, and vacuums just as well if not better than the Neato. I was totally uncomfortable setting up the Neato to run while I am a work. Never even tried it because I was always having to rescue it from something. The Roborock is just much better. Very lightly taps walls and furniture then backs off. Cleans well even into corners to a point. Even with the Neato I had to clean the corners myself. So having to do it with the Roborock is not a big deal. I am complete comfortable with it running when I am not home. Doesn't get caught on things, never had to rescue it from itself. I can highly recommend it for what it does. If the replacement lasts better than the original, I will be very comfortable with changing my rating to a 5 star! So stay tuned in the future for my update.
