I purchased this mat because I have tiled counter tops, and rolling or kneading dough leaves the grout impossible to clean. This mat is extremely sturdy and much thicker than some of the other mats this size. It is thick enough to lay flat, but flexible enough to be rolled back into the tube for storage. I have no problem with the edges curling or needing to be weighed down. The mat does slip around, but if you wet the back of it evenly with a moist paper towel it stays right in place, even when vigorously kneading dough on it.I am extremely happy with this mat, it is going to be a life saver during the holiday baking season.
