I'm really happy with this purchase. The desk is solid and stable, it was a breeze to assemble, and it fits my particular needs perfectly. I think that's the key phrase here; "my particular needs". The desk is small, but that's what I wanted. It fits the space I had perfectly and it holds my Macbook Pro 15" and Apple 27-inch Thunderbolt Display exactly the way I want (see photos). Regarding some of the other reviews that I read here, all of the hardware (and the allen key) was included and came in a very well-sealed little unit. Like another reviewer, mine was also not in pristine condition although the box was in fine shape. There were a couple small dents in the metal grill on one side and a spot on the bottom shelf that was rubbed against by something else in the box and it showed a mark from it. But these are really minimal and not at all noticeable when the desk is assembled. It's not a very expensive desk, so for me, this is completely acceptable. Regarding the legroom issue: I'm 5'6"with a 29" inseam and the bottom shelf wouldn't have been much of a problem for me unless I really stretched out in a certain way. For the way I sit, it wouldn't be a problem. I say "wouldn't be" because I actually opted to simply not install it. I don't need the little bit of extra shelf space, and the shelf is *not* a structural part of the desk. I noticed one reviewer was concerned about this, but if you look at it, the metal grills on the legs are at the same height as where the shelf would be, so the shelf doesn't add any structural stability. The desk is very stable without the bottom shelf installed. I paired the desk with an Amazon Basics chair, and they match perfectly.
