Great purchase!! I notice a lot of videos of people saying it was defective. I too thought that but realized I was using it wrong... 😅... first you have to place the item flush to the walk, then press and hold the power button. It will light up and beep then stop, when it stops beeping and the red light goes off, that's when you start running it along the wall while never releasing the button until you are finished. I suggest starting at the very corner of your wall not in the middle for if you do that and you just so happen to be on a beam it won't work. It also won't work if you just press and release the button, as well as if you press and hold the button while not on the wall then trying to place it on the wall. I hope this is helpful to everyone.
