I like it, he doesn't ..
My new kitty and I don't travel a lot and he doesn't go outside, but I thought he needed to learn to be prepared for those situations should they occur, so we got this harness.
I made the decision to put him in it every day for at least 20 minutes so he could get use to wearing it and not think we were going to the vet or somewhere else anytime he saw it coming....
My kitty is only 5-6 months old right now and poor thing, he becomes crippled and falls over after a few steps .. he thinks he is sooooo weighed down. lol but he tolerates it and only got himself out of it once.
As far as using it for its intended use, we've not had too, so can't speak to the security features. I'm hoping though that by time we get to the occasion he needs to actually wear it outdoors, it will serve its purpose.... In the meantime, we walk a few steps, fall, lay there, get up after a while, go lean on the kitchen cabinet, fall over, lay there...... it's really quite cute and I know the harness is NOT as heavy as he makes it out to be.
oh, we have worn it to the vets office during our last visit but he also traveled in a small carrier, but the vet liked the fact we were training by wearing it for a short time daily. He said 'less travel anxiety for the cat if he doesn't associate it with only travel.'
As far as getting it on him.... well, it was a struggle at first, but each day he gets a bit more tolerant. I suspect at some point he'll just accept the fact he's going to wear it and let me put it on him without that swat of his claws coming at me.
