READ THIS if Arkham City Lockdown isn't working for you
I've read many reviews saying that the game doesn't work, won't install, crashes, etc. My son has a first generation Kindle Fire, and I was worried I would be wasting my money, and he would be disappointed. However, the game works great, but some people may not be familiar with how to deal with the little red exclaimation point error on the Kindle.
If you try to download this game from the cloud, and you get a red exclaimation point (in the lower right of the app icon) that means that the game could not fully download AND install. The overwhelming reason for this is that there is not enough free space on your Kindle for the game to download and install. Even if the game successfully downloads, it has to install fully. Quality titles like this can be several gigabytes, and even through the product description says that it's less than a gigabyte, I had to clear nearly 2.5 gigabytes off my son's Kindle Fire before the game successfully installed and was able to run.
If you download add-ons like the additional costumes, that additional data must be stored on your Kindle, and if you don't have room for it ... that's right, the game will stop working.
If you're having trouble running this game, you'll have to delete nearly all your apps. If that doesn't work, try doing a hard reboot (hold the power button down for about 20 seconds), which will clear your RAM cache. My son has a first generation Kindle Fire, so I know it works on the Kindle. All your apps are stored on the cloud, and you can re-download them later. You might lose your saved games though, so keep that in mind.
If you have a Kindle Fire with a larger drive, or if you're willing to uninstall nearly all your other apps, I promise this app works. Don't blame the developers, blame Amazon for not including a SD card slot on the Kindle Fire.
