This is a rewrite of an old review. I initially gave it four stars and went on a bit over that I felt the cord should be heavier and would likely be the thing that ends up putting this thing out on the sidewalk. Well, I've owned and used this heater for five years now and can absolutely confirm no problems. Further, we rent the entire floor of a townhouse in Queens, New York City and this heater has been great particularly for changes of season when the landlord typically doesn't turn on the heat. It makes a big difference in our comfort when our home would normally be cold and uncomfortable without it. It heats a rather large space very well and you don't have to be sitting right in front of it get toasty warm as the fan is strong enough to blow hot air quite a distance. It is also not too noisy--no motor noise from the fan or buzzing from the heat element, just the sound of air moving. It can oscillate, but we never bother using that feature. Just put it in a corner or a doorway and turn it on. I don't know what the difference is between ceramic heat versus that of a steam radiator or kerosene, but I can say from experience that the heat from this unit is very comfortable--not too intense with one focused hot spot and the rest just warm, and you don't have to be practically sitting on it either. Bottom Line: Five years on, I've certainly gotten far more than my money's worth out of this excellent little heater.
