Great Value
Prior to making any purchases, I normally do my research before doing so. Such was the case here; I read all of the reviews and was aware of all of the known issues. One thing I would like to point out is that this is one of the most inexpensive hand mixers available; to purchase this item expecting it to perform like higher-end models would be absurd. Of the 221 item under "hand mixers" on Amazon.com, there are only six items that cost less, one of which is a hand blender. I took this into consideration when rating this item.
All things considered, the Hamilton Beach 62682RZ Hand Mixer with Snap-On Case exceeds my expectations! It is plenty powerful enough and so far I've used it to make ice cream and pizza dough. Also, I don't know how I missed it, but I didn't realize that a whisk was included! I also like the snap-on case; it makes it easy to keep track of the beaters and whisk and protects them from unnecessary damage in the kitchen drawer.
I only have a few (albeit very minor) issues with this item. First, I have a difficult time fitting the beaters, the whisk, and the power cord in the snap-on case. It would be nice if it was an inch longer so that the beaters and whisk can lay flat. However, I understand that this is like splitting hairs and has no bearing on the functionality and efficiency of the product. Second, the snap-on case doesn't stay firmly attached to the blender. It will stay attached, but seems to come of easily. This is not a major problem at all, I just lift it by the bottom instead of the handle on the top. It is worth noting that this may be my error and not the manufacturers, because I may be placing the beaters, whisk, and power cord in there wrong. My third issue is that I would like for there to be a lower setting; the lowest setting is a little higher than I would prefer. This would be great for simply mixing items instead of beating. Considering these three issues, I am overall very impressed with this item!
Edit: a couple of months after purchasing this appliance it burned out. However, this is likely my fault because I primarily used it to make pizza dough, and it is simply not built to withstand it. I still give it four stars because, as previously mentioned, the value is great considering the price point. I would still purchase this blender again; I would just be more careful with how it is used and avoid mixing pizza dough with it.
