This cord is constructed very well. I purchased it to turn on and off an LED light string that had a single switch that controlled on/off and 8 light settings. This cord allows me to easily turn on and off the light string with my foot while leaving the light setting on my light string set to our preferred "steady white" instead of cycling through all the settings on a small push button switch down on the ground near the outlet every time we turned it on and off.
