Purchased for my 2 month old Aussie/Catahoula mix that needed to upgrade already so he would stop rolling out if bed. He went crazy when he saw it, jumped right in and got snuggly as soon as I unboxed it. I got a large so he has plenty of room for his pillow/blanket now but can grow into it with age. It's very puffy in the middle at first but just takes a little smooshing to get the perfect cuddly doughnut shape. Didn't smell bad with chemicals but I washed it immediately (in a pillow case) just to be safe. It's extremely soft on top with a durable nonslip bottom so hopefully with proper care it will last a long time.
