Not expecting much, but wanted to try Star Shower alternative. Own 2 original Star Showers and 2 Star Shower Motions. In comparison, Star Night (I purchased the Dancers version) produced brighter and larger lights than both Star Shower versions and the motion of the lights was smoother and faster than the Star Shower Motion version (which both of mine failed with the green laser going dim after one SoCal night of use each...original Star Showers still work okay). The variety of dancing lights and the option to just shine red lights puts it over the top. The unit is very compact and has a good length of cord; much longer than that other brand and without the big clunky power supply at the end. Did great with overnight precipitation without failure, thus far. The light sensor works great to power the unit on and unlike most other brands, it stays on for 8 hours or until it senses too much light, before automatically shutting off: whichever occurs first. The price point has varied a lot in the 2016 holiday season, but regardless, it is mostly less expensive than the Star Shower Motion. I highly recommend this unit. It is easily our favorite Christmas decoration this season and we will purchase more to replace the the motion version of that other brand.
