The thing I love about Rupi's work is how raw it is. People preach all day about subjectivity until it doesn't suit their taste or rather lack of taste. People acting like they know poetry but have "live laugh love" hung up in their houses. I'm not sure what Rupi has done to upset so many anal suburban moms but take their reviews with a grain of salt. Her work is aimed towards a certain audience and she doesn't filter what she truly feels because she knows the people this is intended for will reach it. It's no ones job to be a role model for your kids but you. And coming from someone who has seen and heard it ALL in school trust me, your kids aren't angels and they aren't innocent. Much of that they get from you, not anyone else. What she writes about it is a reality for many people who aren't privileged enough to live in a land of make believe.
