I am a Professional Home and Personal Chef and I also teach cooking skills. I take all of my kitchen items, tools, utensils, knives, serving items and other accessories very seriously and when I test and review culinary items, I am highly critical and meticulous in evaluating and rating them. My reviews are honest and unbiased. Good is good…bad is bad! As an Amazon VINE Voice reviewer, I have had the opportunity to test and review quite a number of blenders over the last few years. In the under $125 price range, I have been somewhat disappointed in the offerings that are permeating the marketplace, so I didn't really have high expectations for this one at its value price point. I am very pleased to have been proven wrong, as this blender is a true workhorse! Well-designed and robustly manufactured, it is capable of competing equally with blenders that cost 2 to 3 times as much! 2200watts of pure, unadulterated power! The controls are easy to use and understand, though it is important that the timer knob be turned all the way counterclockwise to assure it is the ON position for operation of the manual modes. Manual pulse switch, on/off switch and speed knob all work as designed. The BPA-Free pitcher is somewhat taller than many competing brands, but effective nonetheless. The big surprise is the six bladed system which is very unusual, but VERY functional. Noise levels are reasonable without overwhelming your ears...even at the highest speed. The tamping stick is exactly the right length to press product into, but not touching the blades while in operation. I compared the operation against my high-end Vitamix and the results were astonishingly similar for the same time and speeds. While I prefer the wider and shorter pitcher of the Vitamix, I would not hesitate to use the CasaCosa if my Vitamix was not available. The unit is easy to clean like any other blender. Rinse out the pitcher with water, then a little dish soap and about a third of the pitcher filled with water, and back on the blender for a spin that will clean the internals easily. Rinse and dry...done! I tested with everything from coconut, ice, dry product and more. I made soups as well from scratch, allowing the blender function at high speed to heat the ingredients to steaming temps. The results were equally satisfying, and this blender has the robustness that would make it into commercial activities like a smoothie bar, or restaurant. All in all, I rate this blender at a strong FIVE STARS...especially at the price point. In my view, there is no better for the price, and I am happy to give it my professional recommendation for your kitchen!
