Hmmm...Much Much Faster than I expected!!
The funny thing is, I had a 600w 36v front drive motor and was really happy with that, until I got this kit. I started off putting this kit on a ridged frame. My thought was I wanted something that was sturdy and reliable. The problem became the speed. Rolling along at 15 to 20mph is OK, but moving much faster requires suspension for pot holes and other things you really can't prepare for going around 30+ mph, yes, 30+. Everything promised came only two days after ordering. After making the final decision about which bike to install it on, I decided to put it on my Mongoose Impasse. The Impasse is a 29er, however, I took off the 29" rims and replaced them with 26's. This gave me much more travel when it comes to dips, pot holes and uneven pavement. Plus it's full suspension with disc brakes. After installing the kit, using 48v SLA batteries, the motor has a very quick response time, and 0-to-30 in 6 seconds. It almost feels as if you're cheating because the bike is so fast. Forget pedaling! You can't pedal doing more than 20mph. If it makes you feel better, you can fake pedal, but you don't need to. Oh and for hills, lets see, I weigh about 220lbs, the bike weighs in at 110lb with motor and batteries, and I went up a 300ft steep grade without even using full throttle. Granted, I am an e-bike user, but the kit is self explanatory and easy to install. Now, you will not install the kit in 1hr or even 1 day because there are certain things that will need to be considered, because every bike is different. With that said, take your time and do it right and you will have an e-bike that puts out.
