I based my purchase on the comments presented by reviewers of the other Royal Sovereign (RS) manual sorter (MS-1). The Royal Sovereign (QS-1) sorter is surprisingly well made compared to the electric sorter I previously purchased at about the same price. The RS sorter occasionally jams but is tolerable. The electric unit jammed quite often and would sometimes require 5-10 minutes to remove the coins from underneath the sorting disk. To ensure coins feed into the tubes without obstruction, I do not put the paper sleeves in the tubes--I slide the sleeves (free ones from my local bank) around the coins when the tubes are full. I also make sure that the coins are free of debris. Works much faster than hand sorting and counting. I sorted $486 of mixed denominations without any major bumps and with little effort. I highly recommend this unit over the electric (AC-supplied) unit that I purchased at the big box store at about the same price. Jim
