Perfect chair for me, my back and my health. Read my tips for assembly. It'll help knock it out in under 45 mins.
I'm leaving a pretty lengthy review and adding tips to ease the assembly and pictures of the assembly.
First, I chose this chair over others because of the extra padding and fact it rocks vs. the other available versions that are on wheels. I'm ADD and the rocking helps.
I used to sit on a large ball. It's a very similar concept to this chair and the ball is cheaper. However, your co-workers are less inclined to kick or steal this chair vs a ball.
I noticed that I would start to slouch, but recorrect my posture in this chair. In a regular chair the back support helps encourage continued slouching. I can feel my core in a constant state. I also find myself putting less pressure on my hands as I type.
It'll take your shins and core some getting used to, but overall it's a major step up from the executive style chair I was previously in.
Assembly:
- The process took me 45 minutes. I took pictures through out and made sure I didn't rush. One could easily assemble it in less time.
- Tools: You will need a flat head screw driver; rubber malet, hammer, and or a flashlight. I used a metal flashlight as my hammer as well as to help look inside the holes to line up screws that gave me trouble.
- Tip. Clear some space, remove the trash, and lay everything out in order first.
- Tip. Put the crossbeams in order of longest to shortest prior to setting it up.
- Tip. Feel free to tap the wood dowel rods in lightly. Once you start screwing it together it will fall into place.
- Tip. Do not tighten all the screws until you have ALL the screws lightly screwed in place. Lining the screws up is hard without wiggle room and it will make assembly difficult if you tighten them in one at a time.
- Tip. Line the female flat head bolts at a 90 degree angle to the wood. Or look down the hole with a flashlight to make sure it's lined up. This is the most frustrating part. Which is why I suggest keeping all the screws loose until the end. It helps dramatically, as I went back and loosened them all. After doing that I knocked it out with ease.
