Great system, I'm impressed
I'm only a few hours in now, so if anything changes I'll be sure to update - but so far so good. We pre-ordered the eero system over a year ago, and with a few delays along the way, and competing products coming to market, I thought about canceling a time or two. I'm glad I didn't! The good: -Incredibly easy setup - really nothing to it - install the app, connect a few wires, and let the app do the rest -Nice design - yes that sounds goofy, but it is nice to have an access point that you aren't trying to hide out of sight -Great speeds - I run my main computer on a wireless-n adapter, and on my old Netgear Wireless-N router I usually showed a connection of around 80mbps, now its pretty steady at 300mbps -Great coverage - 1500 sq ft house, and three access points cover it very well, I haven't found a dead spot yet -Mesh topography - the fact that you connect the modem to one AP, and the other two basically just need power and to be within reasonable distance of each other is awesome -Ethernet ports on each AP - there are only two on each AP, but that is nice for connecting things like Smart-TV's, Consoles, etc The bad: -The price - I pre-ordered and got my system for $300, I don't know that I would have been able to talk myself into spending the $500 -Over simplified - I like the Android app, but the advanced network settings aren't available yet - I hope that's quickly fixed -Ethernet ports - for the two extra AP's, two Ethernet ports is probably enough - but on the primary AP, when you loose one right off the bat from connecting your modem, a few more would have been nice Quick update: -Advanced features are available now for the Android app, important ones to me DNS, DHCP, Reservations and Port Forwarding - so no complaints about the Android App now, and still very simple to use and setup Another update (1/31/17): Eero released an updated app a few days ago that spruced up the home screen a bit. I like the new look, it has all of the important information that you need at a glance but still isn't too busy. Overall performance from my 3 AP's has been rock solid and coverage is great, still very happy with this purchase.
