Norton is the best!
I have had a Kindle Fire since they came out last year. Before it arrived, I asked Amazon Customer Service to see if I needed to download a security program. CS said "No it is secure without adding anything." I'm expecting a Kindle Fire HD 8.9 in a couple of weeks, so I contacted them this morning and asked if the HD needed security. CS answered via email in minutes and said "No, but I could add a security app for peace of mind if I wanted" and gave me a link to Kindle Security Apps." I saw Norton Lite and downloaded it, scanned my Fire, and in about a second, it said there was no malware [after a year of continual use and constantly being on the internet].
My experience with Norton is the opposite of those who rated it one or two stars. I love Norton Internet Security and have used it for years on my desktop and laptop, originally because PC magazines rated it the best. I just installed the Lite version on my original Fire today. [And now a year later, I've installed it on my Fire HDX 8.9 and I'm still happy with it.]
Here is why I'm so happy with Norton Internet Security for my PC and my laptop, based on years of experience with them:
1. I love that it is unobtrusive and works in the background, including scanning and updating.
2. I love that it stores my passwords for various sites and automatically logs me into them when I go to their page.
3. When there is identity data to be filled in on a page, all I have to do is click "Fill" and it is filled instantly.
4. Free updates of the software are available for the asking as long as your subscription is current.
5. I ran into an issue yesterday that I couldn't resolve, called Norton tech support, and a very helpful lady took control of my computer [with my permission] and took care of the issue I was having in just a couple of minutes.
6. It just does what it is supposed to do and I feel secure with it working in the background and warning me if there are issues.
I think those who say they want feedback to know that it's working are worrying needlessly. It is working and not bothering you with the details unless there is an issue. I love it [especially since they have reduced the price for renewals to about 1/3 of what they were] What's not to like!
