First let me state I didn't purchase my chair here on Amazon, my wife and I are Amazon Prime members and we purchase a lot from Amazon but when my hip decided to literally disintegrate I needed a lift chair fast. So we spent a day shopping all over town (5-6 stores in Las Vegas/Henderson, NV). We could not find a chair that would work for me or a chair that was worth the money they were asking, most starting at around $900 and all the way up to almost $3,000 (insane prices) so as we were leaving another well known nation wide branded furniture store I looked down the street and saw an Ashley furniture store. By this time with the pain of getting into and out of the car several times, I told my wife this is our last stop. My wife went in first just to see if they had any chairs. She came out really quick & I was about to start the car when I saw her waving at me to come in. I hobbled into the store and of course the lift chairs were all the way back in the rear of the store....but the walk was sure worth it! I sat down in an Ernestine chair, lifted several times and told my wife this is the perfect chair for me. I'm a little over 6'-1 and weigh 240lbs. I immediately liked the incredible height this chair will lift to, most of the other chair brands so called lift chairs didn't really do anything more that roll you forward out of the chair & when they did lift-up, the back of the chair also pushed you over and out of the chair whether you liked it or not (which I didn't!). This chair is so great because when you lift up, you can also tilt the back back so you are not getting pushed over & out of the chair. By the time the chair lifts up & I move the back to a upright position, I can easily just step forward with my good leg, I am almost in a complete standing position. Another great feature is the comfort of this chair...It Is Great!!! Needless to say, we bought the chair, took out the extended 5-year warrantly for $100 additional and I have loved this chair since the day we bought it. I have an appointment with a Orthopedic Surgeon in late Feb. so we bought the chair just in time. I intend to sleep & sit in this chair for the first 2-3 weeks after hip surgery. The price listed here is a great price along with free delivery, just make sure the delivery is to the inside of your house and whether or not it includes set-up (pretty simple if you are mobile and can get on the floor easily). I would also recommend Ashley's extended 5-year warranty. 5-years for $100 is a great deal considering the chair is a power unit and will be used a lot. That's about all I can say of the chair, I just think that the Ashley chairs have all other competitors beat hands down for comfort and price...excellent quality, comfort and price!
