This stuff is like declaring nuclear war on bugs!
After repeatedly bombing my yard with Spectracide, Sevin, Malathion, and other insecticides, I was worried about turning my back yard into a Super Fund site. So the Customer Reviews of this stuff were intriguing enough to make me purchase a bottle and give it a try. Mixed up a couple of gallons in my pump-up sprayer, donned my rubber gloves, and ventured out into the insect battlefield to engage the enemy. I sprayed everything from eye-level to the ground. I sprayed around the windows and doors of the house. I sprayed the shrubs, fence, trees, and anything else standing still. Then I waited... In my mind's eye, I had just dropped the "big one" on the ticks that were crawling about with their front legs extended into a "hey buddy can I catch a ride" pose. And it went "kaBOOOOOOM". Ticks dead, but lots of other bugs too. No more ants, no more stink bugs, or other creepy crawlers. In fact, I suspect that any bug merely flying over my yard will probably keel over in mid-air and drop to the ground. Funny thing is this stuff isn't all that toxic to humans and dogs. Cats, on the other hand, need to steer clear. Not sure what the marauding raccoon is feeling, but I don't give a hoot about him. He's bringing ticks into my yard. ========= Two years later and update. This has been a banner year for mosquitos in the Houston area. Right now they are swarming in unheard-of numbers. I mixed a two-gallon batch (uses 3 ounces of Permethrin SFR) and ventured into my yard. Spraying as I walked, I was knocking mosquitos to the ground and showing them who is boss. I found a couple of low spots in the yard where they are breeding and gave it a short burst of spray. That will do the trick. I also sprayed around the door frames where these little bloodsuckers lie in wait for humans and canines alike. In a hour I will assess the damage. Usually I find June bugs laying about with their heels in the air. Now I expect to find heaps of dead skeeters. This stuff works **really** well. It will kill the 'good' bugs along with the 'bad' bugs, so if you have plants that attract bees or butterflies, you might want to use a lesser product. But I'm totally sold on this product and strongly recommend it to anyone with a flea, tick, or roach problem. It is a very effective barrier spray for your exterior walls and especially around weep holes in brick veneers.
