OK - to be honest. I purchased this to upset another family member who keeps bugging me about spending money on nic nacs I don't need. But for just under $11, it seemed a good way to engage in a little psychological warfare to combat nic nac nagging. I wasn't even confident it would work. I definitely got the "rolling eyes" treatment when it arrived, but to my surprise (and the surprise of the resident nic-nac nagger), it works great. As advertised, it only works in the dark (that saves battery power), and the motion detector that causes it to activate is nicely sensitive. No problems or glitches at all. On arrival and unpacking, it fired right up; no thanks to the terrible instructions included with the unit. Now, a month later, it is still going strong on the three original AA batteries (not included) and I'm liking it a lot. For a guy, it's a definite assist to "aiming" in the darkness. Even the nic nac nagger gets a kick out of it. Bottom line, it only lights the toilet bowl (not the room); gets lots of points for "cool factor;" and I'm going to purchase more when I have a little disposable "nic nac" money. This would probably be a great gift for those office parties where you can't spend more than xx dollars on your gift.
