Astonishing for the price
For the money, these "little" wonders are as good as it gets. After about 100 hours, their true character comes out - clean mids and highs, great soundstage, and visceral bass Pros: -Sound incredible for the money; can compete with MANY much higher-priced phones, especially of the boutique variety (Bose, Skullcandy, etc) -Comfortable for long stretches -Don't require a dedicated amplifier (but can still benefit from one) -Simple, functional, and durable design Cons: -Pleather earcups get quite hot; not unique to these but rather a characteristic of all closed and semi-closed headphones with pleather cups Other thoughts: -Quite large. These compete with the Everglide S500's for being the biggest cans I own -These aren't true closed phones. As such, they do not provide the isolation you may expect Final thought: -If you only have $50 to spend on full-size headphones, there is simply no point in looking any further. They aren't just great for the money. They are just plain great.
