A Mimi’s nightmare - The never ending black hole of Roblox cards
Here’s the thing about these cards. Are they good? Yes. Do they allow the kids to play and have fun? Yes. Is it easy to redeem them? Yes. Are the grandkids happy? Yes. Do they think you are the best Mimi ever? Yes. Will you only buy one? Oh No! Oh no you will not buy just one!! You are suddenly sucked into the never ending black hole of buying Roblox cards forever!!! Forever!!! So if you are ready to buy these forever go ahead and buy the first one!! I dare you. See once you buy one card those grandkids are gonna be asking for them on a regular basis. And that’s exactly how this nightmare started. And if you don’t get them then their life is over and their Roblox game is basically worthless. Now however many grandkids you have, that’s how many cards you will buy each and every single time because the first one you bought the card for isn’t going to be able to shut up and keep it a secret that you got him a card. I learned the hard way. And the expensive way. And it’s been a spiraling out of control nightmare since that I can’t seem to wake up from. Here’s what happened. I got a text message from my oldest grandson which started innocently enough. It was the good ol hi Mimi, I miss you Mimi, are you busy Mimi? Then once I was buttered up he said Mimi can you buy me a Roblox card. He said you can get them on Amazon. So I said sure because I had no clue what they were. He sends me a link and it took me a few minutes to get it done and find the code but, I got it done. That $15 gave me a measly 10 minutes of being the best Mimi in the world because that grandson had to tell the two other grandsons that he got a card. Then two other grandsons text me and say Mimi did you buy Roman a Roblox card? Well I couldn’t lie so I said yes. Then because I suddenly felt guilty I quickly said I’ll buy you each one too. And so I did. About 20 minutes later my fourth grandson calls me. When I saw his name on caller ID I knew. Oh I knew I was in trouble. But, he’s 7 so when I was buying the cards I had no clue he was playing this game too. He says Mimi everyone got a Roblox card but me. why Mimi? Are you mad at me Mimi? I didn’t get a card Mimi. My heart broke a little because I’m a sucker. Well of course now I’m in a mess. The only way out of it is to go a little further into the black hole of buying Roblox cards. He’s the youngest and I can’t say no to him so I got him one and put $10 more dollars on it since he was so pitiful on the phone and he called me instead of texting. So everyone got a card. All four. And I was at peace. And they were playing this Roblox game. I bought those first four cards with no real understanding of what I was getting into. I thought that was it. It was over. Four cards bought. I’m a great Mimi and everyone was happy. I was so wrong. When I clicked buy now initially, I had no clue I had stepped onto the very precipice of a black hole of buying Roblox cards FOREVER. A few weeks later the grandson that initially asked for the first card once again texted me and said Mimi can I get a Roblox card!? Before giving me time to answer he texts I’ll rake the leaves next time I’m there Mimi. So I contemplated is all that yard work worth getting him a card and decided it was. So I said sure and he said can you make it for $50 and since he said he would rake the leaves and we have a big yard I said yes. I said do not tell anyone I got you a card. He said I won’t Mimi. Well he lied. Once again within minutes I get three other grandsons looking for their Roblox card. Now $50 x 4 is $200. And at this point I can’t believe I’m spending $200 on these cards. But according to these four boys my house will be vacuumed and dusted and my yard immaculate. So I did it. Like the sucker I am. Each one got their card and I was looking forward to getting my yard free of leaves and a break from vacuuming. I was wrong. It stormed all that weekend and about 4 pm on that Sunday the youngest snuggles up next to me and whispers Mimi would you get me a Roblox card? I’m your favorite Mimi. I said can you keep it a secret? He said yes mimi. Well he lied. Within 5 minutes I have three grandsons upset with me about why I was being unfair and why only Rhett got a card. So once again I’ve bought four cards. I’m so far down this black hole now I can’t even see the sun. It’s six months later and I can’t tell you without scrolling all through my orders how many of these Roblox cards I’ve bought now. I’m trained and conditioned now to buy these cards. The boys know it but, they don’t know that I know they know. The only person that doesn’t know I’m gonna buy these cards is Poppa. He has no clue. He doesn’t even know what Roblox is. I wish I didn’t.
