I have only used this once but it handled everything in my yard, including some patches of thick viney weeds. A few times I used power level 2 but most of it was doable at level 1. The battery had a few minutes of extra juice left when I finished. I purchased this model in order to get the better battery, LBXR2520. From what I can tell, the included battery is the only difference in the various models of this trimmer and I've posted a chart of the available batteries to save you some time. I spent a LOT of time on Amazon trying to determine if I should buy a "combo" set or make individual purchases for the string trimmer, sweeper(blower) and hedge trimmer. I decided battery life was important and opted to buy this model string trimmer to get a better battery. I also bought the hedge trimmer (without battery) and the sweeper (LSW20) with a battery. It was about $10 bucks more and an extra battery and charger can't hurt, even if it's the lesser LBXR20 battery. CONVENIENCE: Last year I bought a top-rated 14" Toro Electric string trimmer. I immediately found it was too heavy for me to use on my steep yard (I'm not a guy). Also the extension cord was limiting. I can take this little B&D anywhere in my yard and it's very lightweight. It seems like a great solution for me and I hope it performs well long-term.
