This is the finest circular saw I have owned and I have owned many. I have waited for some time for a full sized, full featured right-blade 7-1/4" sidewinder. I am a fully seasoned former carpenter and I have always personally preferred B&D Sawcats, the very similar DeWalt models, Makitas and the better grade Skils. I have other cordless saws in various sizes which with the exception of a small 12v Makita are all left-blade saws. I consider them preferable only for cutting sheetgoods. I have 2 Skil wormdrives which I have used a bit when framing using West Coast methods. Most of my work was done with East Coast methods and therefore using right-blade sidewinders such as this. This saw has the fastest rotational speed I have used and that is perfect with modern thin kerf blades. This saw arrived perfectly aligned and adjusted. I particularly like the instantaneous blade brake, the led light which illuminates the line of cut exceedingly well, the balance and, of course, the lack of a cord. I remember many hours of frustration fighting cords in my time. I remember several near accidents using old saws without brakes. I would have loved to have had such a saw as this 15 to 50 years ago. One note; The pictured saw shows no rafter hook. The one I received has an excellent flip-out rafter hook. Icing on the cake! ......What a terrific saw!
