Near to perfect as Imagined
** Update after a month **
It is such an All in one workhorse, it does a fantastic job on mopping as well see attached photos and no stuck hair on the brush roll or mop, what a keeper!
**Initial review after couple of uses**
Its my first time experience buying and using such a Vacuum robot, so it had to be what offers the best! A friend recommended me an Eufy and heard so many great things, however I needed one with an auto empty bin. Mopping was still not a must have feature for me but good to have since I believe it's still too early to expect thorough mopping abilities from an electronic device. After doing my extensive research, comparing user reviews and specs across different brands, it had to be an Irobot Roomba or a Roborock. Had narrowed down Roomba i7+ vs Roborock but Roborock S7+ convinced me downright. Here is why I picked Roborock vs Roomba and I am glad i did-
Likes:
1. With Lidar the navigation is so much better than Vslam (roomba) I needed this vacuum to work even in extreme low light or on complete darkness at night. The Mapping is excellent! Even if you lift it up and move it elsewhere, it goes left right and it knows where it is, knows where the docking station is.
2. The emptying dock station does a great job on emptying the roborocks vacuum unit empties the bin every single time with hardly any debris in the bin.
3. Automatically identifies a carpet and saves this info on map, had no issues with it climbing on .75 pile without any sweat. It automatically increases its suction power when on the carpet.
4. The built is really of good sturdy plastic, can take quite hits, the robot is heavy and the breathing light indicates charging, it also provides a voice feedback for every action.
5. Battery - This was of huge importance to me when I compared it with Roomba i7 or even s9+ It does vacuum the entire apartment 1BR with 40mins approx time and is still at 76% battery remaining.
6. The manual instructions as well as the roborock app is very clear in terms of usability and even shows a real-time position of the robot, you can even remote control it like a toy, the use of maps can be confusing but you need to play around with it to see how to divide rooms, draw invisible lines, define no go zones and no mopping zones, once done you can command the roborock to vacuum a specific area or room, the app lets you share the robot profile and access with other family members. Connects to the wifi easily, no errors and provides you notifications on the app, as cleaning is complete or docking or in progress.
7. Most important it actually cleans very well! Great for hair pickup and not seen tangled on the roller. Didnt try the mopping yet but like I mentioned didnt expect it but will update my review once tried and tested. the guide says to vacuum the house 3 times before using a mop.
Dislikes-
1. Not a fan of storage bags, there was one installed already and got 2 extras but I am worried that its an additional cost, wish if it was bagless.
2. Yes it does take 4-5hours to charge completely but once charged keeps charge well.
3. The spin brush, like the one roomba has, not much of a fan as I feel it wont last because it keeps rubbing against the wall corners or other furniture legs, so may have to replace in future.
4. Small things like on the dock there is a small brush to clear the charging points on the roborock and other sensors really says, it's been developed with careful practical uses.
If the above dislikes are okay for you, would recommend it 100%!
