A bit better than the older model and yet a little bit worse. (Before troubleshooting)
The 5 stars come after the update: I figured out how to stop the leak!!
This is my second crock-pot; I also purchased the earlier model (3 times and gave them as gifts to people I love). My basic problem with the earlier model was the cord. I purchased this model because the pot and base were separate and that would eliminate the cord issue. HOWEVER, although I like this pot, the seal is not tight and it leaks if the pot falls on its side (which it often does in my lunch bag in my car). Frustrating, but not so much that I will give it 3 stars. I do feel that this crock pot keeps my food warmer longer while I eat at my desk and that earns a star for sure.
Pros: warms quickly, keeps food warmer, no frustrating cord to keep rewinding, the purple is BEAUTIFUL.
Cons: The inner lid does not fit tightly and will leak. BIG con but not enough to be a deal breaker for me.
UPDATE: After working with this, I figured out how to stop those leaks of liquid (from soups, etc). After putting the lid on the liner, it needs to be "burped". There is a vent hole and so pressing down on the top a few times to expel the air causes a suction to prevent spillage. It also prevents the top from popping up as the food heats up. So now…. 5 stars!
