UPDATE 8/4/18
The product distributor contacted me today after my review. As it turns out the device was defective, which we all know can happen. The company was great about it, very pleasant to deal with and issued a full refund along with a sincere apology.
It seems like a great product according to reviews and videos I read and watched previous to purchasing.
