My dog needed something to help keep his knee immobilized while he recovered from a torn CCL. If you have a squirrel chaser, you know how hard it is to keep them still. He is a shepherd mix, 106 lbs and I bought him an XL. I agree with other reviews that the strap slips off after laying down. If you have done your research, you’ll find that there are limited options in finding an affordable appliance that helps with this condition short of spending hundreds of dollars. I made two simple modifications and it works perfect!! First, I trimmed a corner off the inside of the brace to help prevent cutting into his groin (HUGE SUCCESS!), then, I sewed an addition strap that helps keep it from falling off of him each time he gets up from laying down (ANOTHER HUGE SUCCESS!). With these modifications, it doesn’t come off until we take it off for bed time. For the price, it is worth the effort! And of course my pup deserves to be as comfortable as possible. This definitely beats surgery!
