The product is easy to figure out, even without instructions, although adequate instructions are provided. The fans are definitely keeping my laptop cool. For those with older, thicker laptops, small clips are provided to help ensure that the laptop does not slide off the front if you have the desk set up so that it is tilted towards you. It is light enough to carry around so you can use it on the couch, at your desk (to lift the laptop up so screen is at your eye level) or in bed, although on couch and bed, it is a little wobbly. But I don't see how this could be fixed unless the stand is made heavier, and I like being able to move it around my work environment. If the laptop is lifted off the desk with this stand, you end up with space under the laptop where you can put accessory hard drives and other work items. I hope this stand lasts - will update review if it breaks within the first year. I hope not. For now, i am pleased with the purchase. I can already feel how much more comfortable it is to not have to look down at my screen. Update: 2 years later and the stand is performing like new. I have also put a regular desktop screen on it and hoisted it up about a foot in height and it is very stable on a desk. Had to do this because I developed back problems and couldn't sit for long, so have to work standing up if I can. This stand saved me having to buy a taller desk! Definitely very satisfied with this purchase.
