Cure for SCABIES! See below for what DID and DID NOT work! (Make sure to dilute)
It's been 2 months of hell. Scabies can bring you to your breaking point. I actually picked it up in a dressing room, so I hope I have enough clothes to last me the rest of my life because no more mall trips for me!! I tried EVERY natural cure I could find (tea tree oil, neem oil, clove oil, rosemary oil, fresh aloe vera, sulphur soap, sulfur powder, white vinegar, hydrogen peroxide baths, sea salt baths, etc....). After 2 months of trying everything to avoid using a "drug" I finally purchased this permethrin out of desperation. My skin was cracked and raw from all the harsh treatments and I was itchy, sleep deprived, and on the brink of insanity from all the constant laundry and cleaning. I hated the thought of "insecticiding" myself and nearly had a breakdown after reading through all the instructions on the bottle (it says to not let it come in contact with your skin). But since other people had good experiences I wanted to try it. I know I had scabies and didn't need to spend several hundred dollars on a doctors visit, test, and overpriced prescriptions. So here is what I did: 1. Mixed this 10% permethrin with body lotion (1:1 ratio to dilute it down to the same 5% strength as the prescription). 2 ounces of permethrin mixed with 2 ounces of lotion was enough to cover my body. 2. I applied it everywhere from the neck down. I did also apply it a couple inches into my hairline at the nape of my neck because I'd had some bites there. 3. Let it remain on the skin 8-12 hours (I did 8 hours). Then I showered off. 4. While the treatment is on... CLEAN LIKE MAD. Vacuum, mop floors, I laundered EVERYTHING on hot water and bagged up everything else that I had worn that couldn't be washed (coats, boots, shoes, rugs etc) and put them in storage containers in the basement to remain there for a couple weeks at least. TIP: TEST YOUR WATER WITH A THERMOMETER TO MAKE SURE IT IS GETTING TO AT LEAST 122 DEGREES! IF NOT TURN UP THE HEAT ON YOUR WATER HEATER!. Scabies will die when exposed to 122 degrees for 10 minutes, I realized my weeks of constant laundry was for nothing because my water heater wasn't set hot enough and was only getting my hot water up to 117 degrees. It has been 1 week since I did one treatment of permethrin. The rash/bites that had covered my stomach, back, and neck is 99% gone, my poor skin is healing, I'm not itching anymore, and my house is immaculate lol. I wish I had tried this sooner. My advice is to not waste your life trying the "natural cures" but to jump straight to permethrin if you know for sure you have scabies. If you are worried about using this, go to the doctor and get prescription permethrin...but don't waste your time on the other cures. I wish I'd known sooner. FYI I had no adverse effects from putting this on my skin. It did smell a bit strong and felt greasy, but so worth it for the cure. I hope this can help someone else!
