Bests & Worsts Reviews from Amazon

I bought this coffee pot from Amazon in August 2017 and it has been used almost daily since it arrived. I love it for many reasons. I love it because it makes excellent coffee and keeps it nice and hot consistently. I love it for its ease of cleaning and it’s beauty; all shiny and gleaming while sitting atop my counter top. I must admit It makes me a little nostalgic for my Mom’s kitchen when I was young; especially the wonderful smell of its coffee as it perks. There’s nothing that compares with the blissful smell of coffee perking first thing in the morning. I must note I initially chose this percolator over all others because it has 950 watts power for heating vs the others 800 watts. It insures the coffee gets good and hot. My family remarks often how great the coffee tastes and stays hot all morning. True It does not have an automatic timer on it, but I prep the pot the night before and plug it into a timer. It perks a pot of coffee within 3-4 minutes that never disappoints. Consistently we have hot coffee every morning ready to greet us each day. I have to share that my family gave up our Kurig for this West-Bend percolator and haven’t regretted it once. The Kurig coffee doesn't stay hot for very long. The body of the coffee isn’t as good from a Kurig as it is from the percolator either. I did read the reviews before I bought this pot. I noted complaints about the top knob cracking and breaking, and about a rusty screw inside. After two years the knob on the pot is intact and clear with no cracks. It looks as good as the day we first used it. The instructions say that it is not dishwasher safe, so I’ve always washed it and the pot body by hand. The strainer and pedestal I wash in my dish washer because they’re stainless steel and its dishes washer safe. I clean the inside of the pot each time with hot water and Dawn dish soap. It’s a breeze! There are no rusty screws and no aluminum within the pot either. I’m so very glad I made the right decision to buy this pot for It has never ever disappointed and in today’s times that’s almost impossible.
