My lab/cattle dog mix loves to bark - at anything, any time of day and night, even the falling leaves. He just loves barking for the sake of it, despite the fact that I give him lots of love and attention, he gets indoors time, daily walks, and plenty of open space on the farm to run and explore. The first time he barked after I placed this collar on him, that was IT! One bark followed by a barely audible "erp?" and then - no more barking! Granted, he is very smart. Now every time he reverts to barking, I place this collar on him, and all it takes is one bark (and that first dose of citronella). I am going to have to find a replacement collar for the device, though, because somehow - and I am completely baffled as to how - he managed to remove this collar yesterday and shred it apart! Mind you, the collar fit snugly - just enough to fit 2 finger under it, but not loose by any means. He is in the yard with another dog, but I doubt they coordinated and pulled off this feat. A mystery never to be solved. As a final note, it beats me how dogs love to roll in dead stuff full of maggots, eat other animals' poop and sniff other dogs' butts, but they find one spritz of citronella absolutely disgusting! I wonder what they'd think of Chanel #5.
