I bought the first small set of 32 pieces 4 years ago and kept saying, I gotta buy another one, but balked at the price. But interestingly, over those 4 years, my son kept saying, I love this set, I wish I had more pieces. So I finally realized that all the toys that were inexpensive only entertained him for a few uses and now they sit scattered all over the house, unused. With this toy, more pieces is better than less. Get the larger set and then every Christmas and birthday, buy another set to increase the building power. It will be the toy of choice in power failures, long car rides, or just rainy afternoons. My son can play alone or with others and still enjoys this toy. Phenomenal value that will last you many many years. The pieces are very durable and unlike Leggos, they don't stay in a permanent form that only get played with once. You create something and admire it and half the fun is squishing it all down! We love that part! It goes back in a ziploc and stays nice and neat. Because all the pieces stick together in a lump from the magnets, you won't find the pieces all over your house nor vacuum them up. You will get your money's worth a million times over.
